KissSalis Therme uses SCHELL sanitary equipment to maintain the highest standards of hygiene

Voted ‘Best Spa in Germany’ in 2020, KissSalis Therme is right at the top of the table when it comes to premium spa resorts in Germany. The renovated sanitary facilities were equipped with electronic fittings from SCHELL to ensure that the over 400,000 visitors expected every year can enjoy a hygienic, comfortable and safe time at the spa. Smart SSC Bluetooth® modules help to maintain the drinking water quality with stagnation flushes.

SSC Bluetooth® modules help maintain drinking water quality 

With the SSC app, parameters can be set on the 81 electronic fittings connected using SCHELL SSC Bluetooth® modules quickly, easily and exactly as required. The individual parameters are configured using the associated app. To help maintain drinking water quality, scheduled stagnation flushes can be executed and logged using the integrated flushing calendar. App-based troubleshooting is also available. Alongside the SSC Bluetooth® modules, eight SSC Bluetooth® VITUS modules were also used, which are specially designed for setting parameters on VITUS exposed shower fittings. The Bluetooth® VITUS module also offers a thermal disinfection option for the fittings: this disinfection can be initiated at a safe distance on a tablet or smartphone.

XERIS electronic wash basin taps improve user hygiene, comfort and safety

A total of 45 XERIS electronic wash basin taps, in various designs, were installed on the wash basins in the sanitary facilities at the spa resort: these included 25 XERIS E-T HD-M taps for battery operation, 17 XERIS E-T HD-M taps for mains operation, 1 XERIS E HD-K tap with an extra-tall outlet and 2 XERIS E HD-M taps. All of the XERIS wash basin taps installed feature infrared sensor electronics as well as contactless operation. This makes usage especially hygienic while considerably reducing any risk of contact infections. The XERIS E and E-T wash basin taps are also exceptionally economical to operate, since water only flows when the hands are held within the sensor’s detection range. With the XERIS E-T taps, the integrated ThermoProtect thermostat provides reliable anti-scalding protection – which means spa patrons are protected from scald injuries even if the cold water line fails. Thanks to their uniform design with its softly rounded contours, the various tap models in the XERIS series create a harmonious, perfectly coordinated overall look. 
The customer also requested the installation of six MODUS EH wash basin taps with designer lever. In addition, two GRANDIS E electronic kitchen taps were installed in the restaurant area. This hybrid tap offers especially flexible usage, thanks to its two separate options for operation: GRANDIS E can be operated either with its single-lever mixer or contactless infrared sensor, as required.

Safe and comfortable showering with LINUS and VITUS shower fittings

A total of 45 shower fittings were installed in the shower cubicles at KissSalis Therme in Bad Kissingen. These fittings were all models from the LINUS and VITUS series, with 29 stainless steel LINUS D-C-T concealed showers being fitted, together with 2 chrome-finish LINUS D-C-T concealed showers, 15 LINUS Inox DP-C-T shower panels and 8 VITUS VD-C-T/at bottom exposed shower fittings. On all fittings, the flow of water is triggered by CVD touch electronics and shuts off automatically after a preconfigured interval of time. This makes the SCHELL shower fitting models especially efficient in terms of water consumption. In addition, the LINUS concealed showers, LINUS Inox shower panels and VITUS exposed shower fittings all have a ThermoProtect thermostat that provides anti-scalding protection – even if the cold water line fails. This ensures that spa patrons enjoy first-class protection against scald injuries while showering. This is particularly important because exposure to very hot water while showering causes other hazards, like a risk of falling when trying to dodge out of the way on wet floors. The preferred water temperature can be set individually with the temperature controllers. A relaxing shower experience is ensured by the gentle soft stream from 22 COMFORT Flex shower heads.

Spa fit-out rounded off with special angle valves and accessories

The spa resort owners have also relied on SCHELL’s premium quality for their angle valves and accessories. To protect against dirt particles and limescale deposits, all electronically controlled fittings are equipped with COMFORT angle valves with regulating function and filter. Fitted inside the angle valve, the filter catches harmful particles, and can be easily removed at regular intervals and washed clean under running water. In this way, SCHELL’s regulating angle valves with filters help to protect taps and fittings, and ensure their durability. Six angle valve thermostats provide reliable anti-scalding protection when using the MODUS wash basin taps: the angle valve thermostat ensures that the outlet temperature can never rise any higher than an individually configured value, so it provides reliable anti-scalding protection even if the cold water supply fails.
