New SCHELL subsidiary formed in Austria

Time for some cross-border celebrations – SCHELL has a new subsidiary in Austria! The formation of SCHELL Austria Armaturen GmbH and the inauguration ceremony for the new head office in Vienna were duly celebrated on 2 June 2022. Together with their team, co-managing directors Walter Berger and Klaus Elischewski were pleased to accept the many congratulations offered for this official opening.

The new subsidiary had been a long time in the making. “SCHELL’s success story in the Austrian market began back on 1 February 1996, and we have now achieved a level of revenue that makes the next step possible. We have therefore formed SCHELL Austria Armaturen GmbH, which I represent as one of the managing directors,” explains Walter Berger. Appropriately enough, the formation and grand opening occur in the same year as SCHELL’s 90th anniversary celebrations – again underlining the remarkable longevity of this fittings manufacturer’s success story. 

An impressive showroom in Vienna’s 21st district

The new premises are located centrally on Ignaz-Köck-Straße in Vienna’s 21st district. Offering a total of 220 m² of space, the offices also include a training centre as well as an ultramodern, high-tech showroom. As one example, the showroom offers live demonstrations of how electronic SCHELL fittings work together with SCHELL’s Water Management System SWS. Other SCHELL products are also represented, of course. Walter Berger sums up the advantages of the SCHELL portfolio: “Angle valves brought SCHELL fame and its position as a global market leader. Our fittings for (semi-)public and commercial sanitary facilities help building operators to run their systems hygienically and economically. As an industry innovator, SCHELL’s Water Management System SWS offers customers a digital solution that networks and manages electronic sanitary fittings to ensure the best-possible level of drinking water and user hygiene.”

Apart from managing director Walter Berger, the five-person team at the Austrian subsidiary also includes two field sales staff, an inside sales representative and Klaus Elischewski, Head of International Sales at SCHELL GmbH & Co. KG and also the second managing director at SCHELL Austria Armaturen GmbH. The team is also assisted by Jens Dohmann, Export Manager Western Europe at SCHELL GmbH & Co. KG. 

The service portfolio offered by this capable team is extensive, including in-depth advice for construction project planning, continuous assistance during the tendering and construction phase, and – naturally – a comprehensive aftersales service. All in all, customers receive first-class support for their projects. During the opening ceremony on 2 June, visitors made the most of opportunities for networking while also having the chance to experience demos organised by the team on the new premises for selected SCHELL products.

Adding value to construction projects with innovative solutions 

The new subsidiary will be pursuing a clear strategy. “In the future, we will continue to make our innovative products a priority. Our goal is to win new construction project orders, which we can equip with electronic fittings, shower and sanitary systems, as well as the Water Management System SWS and the SMART.SWS online service add-on. To achieve this, we’re working extensively with planners, installers and B2B suppliers in the industry,” Walter Berger concludes. The team also plans to expand its existing customer base as well as its traditional business with SCHELL’s angle and appliance connection valves. The appealing new premises and the seasoned team have created the perfect environment for this to happen.
