The intelligent SCHELL SWS Water Management System was developed specifically for sanitary facilities on public and business premises. The system enables the networking, control and monitoring of all electronic fittings via the central water management server. The system works to the principle of many features from a few modules. The system can be used to control SCHELL’s electronic wash basin, kitchen, shower, WC and urinal fittings. Installations can be integrated into a wired or wireless network – ideal for new buildings or renovations. Gateways can then be used to connect this system to the existing building automation system.

The SMART.SWS user interface is clearly structured, intuitive to use and offers many analysis functions. SMART.SWS maximises the time savings and cost benefits already offered by SWS by providing an at-a-glance dashboard, efficient maintenance scheduling and effective management.

  • SMART.SWS platform

    SMART.SWS is the online service for the SCHELL SWS Water Management System. The SCHELL SMART.SWS router uses a secure mobile network channel to connect a SCHELL SWS Water Management System to the SCHELL platform. The data is transmitted from the SWS server to the SCHELL platform. Users can keep an eye on their SWS-managed plants as needed from anywhere in the world. Thanks to SMART.SWS, they can access statistics, check specified normal operation, adjust stagnation flushes and other parameters, and share information as required with facility management teams.

  • SWS server

    At the heart of the Water Management System is the SWS server and its intelligent software. The server is responsible for the centralised configuration of fitting parameters, stagnation flushes and thermal disinfection, as well as analyses and documentation. Data from up to 64 subscribers is transferred wirelessly or via a wired bus network. The SWS server can be controlled from a master facility management system. Multiple SWS water management systems can be operated in parallel.

  • SWS BE-K wired bus extender

    This module transfers data between the fitting and the SWS server along a cable up to 350 m in length (total length of all cables must not exceed 1000 m). The same cable also supplies power to the BE-K and fitting. Alongside the fitting, temperature sensors can also be connected to the bus extender. A combination of wired and wireless bus extenders can be used within the same system without any problems.

  • SWS BE-F wireless bus extender

    This module provides wireless data transfer between the SWS server and the electronic fitting. The power supply can be provided either via the fitting’s battery compartment or via a mains adapter. When supplied with mains voltage, the wireless bus extender also functions as a repeater (mesh wireless network). Alongside the fitting, temperature sensors can also be connected to the bus extender. A combination of wired and wireless bus extenders can be used within the same system without any problems.

  • SWS FM wireless manager

    This module bridges longer wireless distances: it functions as a repeater and is powered by a mains adapter.

  • SWS 30 V bus mains adapter

    this module supplies power to all of the wired bus extenders and their networked fittings as well as the SWS server.

  • SWS gateways

    The gateways enable the integration of the SWS Water Management System with the central building control system. A gateway translates the SWS protocol into the target standard bus protocol. Various models are available, depending on the protocols and data points that you require. One SWS gateway is required for each integrated SWS server.

  • SWS temperature sensors

    These sensors record the water temperature, which is used to control hygiene flushes and log system temperatures. To transfer the temperature data, the temperature sensors are integrated with the SWS network either by using the fitting’s bus extender or by using a dedicated bus extender.

  • SWS leak protection fitting

    This fitting reduces the risk of water damage outside the building’s hours of use, without compromising the measures put in place to maintain drinking water hygiene. The fitting uses a programmable calendar function to shut off the water supply during times when parts of the building are not in use. The fitting opens and closes automatically for stagnation flushes.

  • Fittings

    Virtually every SCHELL electronic fitting can be networked with the SWS Water Management System. This means every part of the installation – wash basins, kitchens, showers, WCs and urinals – can be integrated with the system.
