Lower running costs thanks to SWS
Apart from helping to maintain drinking water quality, the SCHELL SWS Water Management System also achieves enormous time savings when it comes to carrying out stagnation flushes. Not least because no-one needs to walk around the building doing everything manually. Compared with flushing by hand, SWS is also more resource-friendly: the system uses as little water as possible – the absolute minimum needed to carry out the flushes. The SWS software makes it easy to adjust parameters like flushing intervals and other settings as required. SWS records all data digitally, from stagnation flushes to calculated water consumption. As a result, building operators can provide evidence of compliance with the German Drinking Water Regulation without problems whenever they need to.
Excellent user hygiene and economical operations
The CELIS E electronic wash basin tap and WALIS E exposed wash basin tap were installed in the civic hall’s sanitary facilities. With both of these models, the flow of water can be triggered without contact via an infrared sensor and then shuts off automatically once hands are moved out of the detection range. This optimises user hygiene, due to the reduced risk of contact infection. The automatic water stop also saves water during hand washing, as water only flows when it is actually needed. In comparison with single-lever mixers, water savings of up to 70% are possible. The GRANDIS E electronic kitchen tap was installed in the catering facilities. Flexible and convenient, this hybrid tap offers a choice of usage modes: the tap can either be operated by its side-mounted single lever or used as a contactless fitting with its infrared sensor.
Pleasant showers plus anti-scalding protection
Manufactured from high-quality stainless steel, the LINUS Inox DP-C-T shower panels are triggered via CVD touch electronics and stop automatically after the configured time. This makes operation both hygienic and economical with water. Thanks to its innovative ThermoProtect technology, the shower fitting also offers users reliable anti-scalding protection – even if the cold water line should fail. The preferred water temperature can be set individually with the temperature controllers.
Intelligent urinal control for optimised user hygiene
The EDITION E urinal control was installed in the male WC. The electronic flushing mechanism detects the user with its infrared sensor and flushes automatically after each use. The EDITION E urinal control also offers the option of an odour trap flush and an energy-saving mode.
Anti-soiling protection for durable fittings
To guard against damage caused by soiling or limescale deposits, all electronically controlled fittings are equipped with COMFORT angle valves with regulating function and filter. The filter keeps back problematic dirt particles, and can be easily removed and cleaned under running water. The SCHELL regulating angle valves with filters therefore help to protect the fittings and ensure their durability.
About Weißenfels Civic Hall
Opened in 2002, the civic hall has external dimensions of 73 x 51 m and space for up to 3,000 spectators. Among other things, the hall is the match venue for the Syntainics MBC basketball club from Germany’s first division as well as the UHC Sparkasse Weißenfels hockey club. Inside, the hall offers a playing field measuring 48 m by 33 m, at a height of nine metres. Thanks to its size, this space can be used to host tournaments for handball, basketball, floorball, badminton or volleyball, with matches played on standard competition pitches. The hall space can also be subdivided to offer three school classes or teams the chance to make the best use of the hall at the same time. Alongside its main pitch space, the hall also features a weight room and a fitness/multi-purpose room. Thanks to its lift, the latter room is also easy to access for athletes with limited mobility.
